The Government of El Salvador, through the Exports and Investments Promotion Agency of El Salvador (PROESA), participated this morning in the Second Finance and Investment Central American Summit, which was organized by LatinFinance. The event seeks to connect regional private and public leaders with finances and investments with the international community and explore new opportunities and barriers of the market and the strategic sectors in Central America.
On behalf of El Salvador´s Government, Mr. Sigfrido Reyes, President of the Exports and Investment Promotion Agency, PROESA, participated in the panel entitled "Foreign Direct Investment: Key Sectors and Engines of Economic Growth", where he spoke about the opportunities of investment in El Salvador within strategic areas such as: textiles and apparel, energy, aeronautics, agro-industry, light manufacturing, tourism and offshore business services. He also enhanced country incentives for potential investors.
The panel also addressed issues relating to factors that influence investment attraction, such as geographical location, regulatory frameworks for foreign direct investment, and incentives for exports and for investment promotion, and the role played by integration policies in foreign direct investment.
The discussion panel also had the participation of the Minister of Commerce and industry of Panama, Augusto Arosemena; the Minister of Economic Development of Honduras, Arnaldo Castillo; the Deputy Director of ProNicaragua, Carlos Zarruk; and it was moderated by LatinFinance´s journalist, Jennifer Roig.
The Second Finance and Investment Central American Summit has brought together hundreds of participants, among investors and international companies within the region. Topics such as opportunities, risks and evolution of Central America as a region, capital market financing strategies, the success of private-public partnerships in Central America, energy infrastructure, infrastructure financing , and key growth sectors of foreign direct investment have been discussed.
LatinFinance´s, President, Christopher Garnett; and Panama´s President, Juan Carlos Varela were also participating at the event.
The second Summit has been held in Panama, as of March10th and 11th 2016.
