This morning, the president of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (known in Spanish as PROESA), Salvador Gómez Góchez, visited the facilities of a company that belongs to the Agroindustry sector, Comercializadora 503.

The meeting aimed to know firsthand the needs of the firm and its plans to continue expanding both nationally and internationally. Comercializadora 503 thanked PROESA for its advice, companionship on fairs and throughout the process of venturing into the export task.

"We attended a business conference that you (PROESA) made this year and thanks to that we are shipping our first container to Canada, which leaves within eight days," said Claudia Merlos, representative of Comercializadora 503.

At the meeting, Merlos said that "we Salvadorans should be proud because we have a skilled workforce." With the help of PROESA, the firm has trained its employees to become competitive at an international level.

"We are visiting Salvadoran companies, we have regained their confidence, we want them to see in the management of President Nayib Bukele a government that generates more development and employment for our people," Salvador Gómez Góchez said.

Comercializadora 503 was born with the idea of satisfying the needs of the nostalgic market in the United States, providing top quality products. In its portfolio of products are all types of foods derived from corn, jocotes, parrot, cashew, tamales, etc.

The company is relatively young compared to its competitors in the field. Despite this, it generates 150 direct jobs, 90% being occupied by women.
