China conducts Forum for International Cooperation and encourages support towards developing countries

People’s Republic of China inaugurated, yesterday, the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, realized in Beijing, People’s Republic of China. This event was held with the purpose of consolidating business and investment opportunities between the participant countries. El Salvador was represented by the president of the Promoter Organism of Exports and Investments in El Salvador (PROESA), Sigfrido Reyes.

 

 “This is a global initiative from China towards the world that seeks to connect countries through the bettering of the infrastructure, not only physical, but digital, with the purpose of helping countries to attract  more investments, jobs and to generate a positive and dynamic global economy. This is the reason that has brought us to Beijing”, mentioned Reyes, after having a telephonic interview with the National Radio of El Salvador.

 

Topics related to the expansion in the access to the foreign market were addressed during the forum, in order to invest in infrastructure and in modern services of manufacture and agriculture, with the purpose of bettering the security of intellectual property, fundamental to the prolific development of any economy.

 

 “This type of event allows a deeper approach with the government entities and companies of China, which has important expansion plans of investment and commerce toward the rest of the world”, assured PROESA’s president.

 

El Salvador´s participation in this forum is important to strengthen and invigorate the local economy because it will allow a better commercial exchange, along with the support of the People´s Republic of China, which guarantees to follow the growth of developing countries that search to generate new business opportunities and to diminish poverty indexes at an international level.

 

 “China is a global power that can’t be ignored and that has a stated compromise of supporting developing countries, that doesn’t seek to impose its politics or points of view. Their acts are based on the principle of respect towards the internal matters of each country. This is why the insight of this process is important” limited Reyes.

 

As well, he explained that the Belt and Road Forum of international commercial Exchange that China proposes “will unite, through trains, seaports, airports, highways, practically Asia with Europe, with Africa, and also, with a maritime bypass that will reach Latin America; this requires a lot of investment and China has the willing to support this type funding so that our countries can face the challenges of overcoming its infrastructure”.

 

For the strengthening and generation of a competitive infrastructure, the Bank of Exports and Imports of China has planned to support 1,800 projects of the participant countries, meaning approximately $149,250 million. Likewise, two British banks have offered commercial financing, syndicated loans and financial markets to the involved countries.

 

 “In the last six years, the implementation of the Belt and Road Forum has offered inspiration and opened new spaces for the theoretical studies”, mentioned Huang Kunming, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), which inaugurated the international event. 

 

The president of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, assured that its country will promote the cooperation South to South and will collaborate with the United Nations (ONU) to bridge the gap of world inequality.

 

The thematic Forum about Exchanges of Group Experts was conducted by the Publicity Department of the Central PCR’s Committee. More than 5,000 guests of 150 countries assisted to the event realized between the 25 to the 27th of April.

 

This is the second occasion that the People’s Republic of China opens its doors to the international community in the interest of strengthening the commercial cooperation between countries.
