Química Nava starts operations in the country with the support of PROESA

The Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (known in Spanish as PROESA) took part today on the unveiling of the chemical plant of Química Nava, corporation devoted to production and merchandising of chemical goods for the textile branch. This firm has Italian-Peruvean background.

Química Nava decided to invest in the country through the establishment of a production plant of chemical textiles and a marketer. From then on, the firm has focused in operating while meeting the legal obligations required by the country.

The investment carried out by Química Nava in El Salvador comprises a land purchase, where the industrial warehouse is placed, in the International Duty-free Zone; where the construction of the 10,000 m2 plant and equipment (reactors and blenders) will take place. This is a capital intensive company that projects to create 50 direct jobs.

The manufacturing processes of the firm extend to mixtures diluting and chemical synthesis to obtain products such as detergent, enzymes, silicones, and others. The company is now leader in the Peruvian market in manufacturing and allocation of chemicals. With this investment, Química Nava funds itself as the first foreign plant of specialized chemical production for the textile industry in El Salvador.

“It’s  a true privilege to PROESA to be part of the operational start of Química Nava, a foreign investor that believes in our country  and that, from now on, initiates its production and merchandising of chemicals for the textile industry. In parallel, I reconfirm our commitment to support you and to work as a team so that the operation consolidates and grows in El Salvador”, emphasized Salvador Gómez Góchez, head of PROESA.

After a review of the Duty-free Zone Law it’s concluded that this regulation was a restraint to the inclusion of ethylic alcohol. Therefore, it was identified the need to reform the legislation so that firms like Química Nava, who use other types of alcohol in their operation, can be considered in the statute and consequently become interested to invest in the country.

During the first 100 days under the direction of president Nayib Bukele and thanks to the support of the Ministry of Health, the enterprise achieved the last required permit to iniciate operations in accordance with the legislation.

PROESA continues to work in order to improve the investment environment in El Salvador and contribute to the development of the country through the government of President Nayib Bukele.
