Last week, Salvador Gómez Góchez, president of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (known in Spanish as PROESA) visited Laboratorios FARDEL S.A. de C.V., located in San Jacinto, in order to show support for the company in the pharmaceutical sector.   During the meeting, he met with the president of the laboratory, José Guardado, to show the services that PROESA offers to exporting companies and investors. Also, he learned about the future projects, operations and current functioning of the firm.   “As an institution, we reiterate our commitment to Laboratorios FARDEL to support them in their expansion plans so that their products will be positioned in new international markets”, said Gómez Góchez. This morning, public and private sector entities of El Salvador presented the Event Plan 2020, an effort coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is a roadmap for the internationalization of national exporting companies, which identifies trade fairs and missions of interest, local and international investment forums, and other promotion activities of the exportable offer and investments in our country.      Its execution will allow having a planning tool that makes it easier for companies and institutions to budget, link financial and human resources and link activities by destination to support the agile monitoring of results.     The Event Plan 2020 is a joint work of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (PROESA), the Salvadoran Association of Industrialists (ASI), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of El Salvador (CAMARASAL), the Chamber of Construction of El Salvador (CASALCO), the Corporation of Exporters of El Salvador (COEXPORT), the International Center of Fairs and Conventions (CIFCO), the Salvadoran Coffee Council (CSC), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also, it has the support of the Secretariat of Commerce and Investment as an extraordinary partner.     By 2020, the Plan contemplates the development of around 60 activities, which can be expanded according to the needs of the sectors or the cooperation required.    …
The Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (known in Spanish as PROESA) organizes the first Service Summit 2019, with the aim of boosting and strengthening the internationalization of value-added services to markets with growing demand in this sector.   For two days, there will be special presentations and informative speeches given by Salvadoran and foreign specialists with a huge experience in business. Also, there will be a workshop focused on internationalization strategies.   “In this forum, we will know more details about strategies to export services, data about the future of trade and trends in service innovation. The Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (known in Spanish as PROESA) participated in the Walt Disney Company´s launch accreditation in the Laboratorios Suizos´ products. This means that Laboratorios Suizos, the Salvadoran company, will be able to use the image of Walt Disney characters in its products. “On behalf of President Nayib Bukele, we congratulate Laboratorios Suizos, and we are very proud because they become the only laboratory in Central America accreditated by Walt Disney to use the image if its renowned characters,” said the president of PROESA, Salvador Gómez Góchez. “PROESA will be supporting the adaptation of products in the different markets, as well, in the strategic identification of potential distributors,” added the head of PROESA. The Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (known in Spanish as PROESA) partook last week in the inauguration of the Garten Zonte Hotel, located at kilometer 53, Playa El Zonte, department of La Libertad.   This project of the Tourism sector of El Salvador, oriented to the Destination Wedding segment, has been executed by investors of U.S. origin.   The concept of the Garten Zonte Hotel is to share the beauty, culture and virtuousness of El Salvador with tourists. Yesterday, the president of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (known in Spanish as PROESA), Salvador Gómez Góchez, was present at the inauguration of the Surf City Tournament, ALAS Latin Pro 2019. This is an international event that takes place in La Bocana, El Tunco beach, from November 13 to 16 of this year.   The activity is carried out thanks to the joint organization of the Ministry of Tourism of El Salvador (MITUR in Spanish), the Asociación Latinoamericana de Surfistas Profesionales (known in Spanish as ALAS) and the Instituto Nacional de los Deportes de El Salvador (INDES in Spanish). This week, the team from the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (known in Spanish as PROESA) participated in the delivery of the third and final phase of the Bósforo project, which will generate 100 MW of photovoltaic solar energy. The initiative was promoted and developed by the electricity distributor, AES El Salvador, in conjunction with the Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI in Spanish).   Bósforo is one of the most important projects that have recently been introduced in the country under a new energy approach of renewable sources.   It has 10 plants of 10 MW each, for a total of 100 megawatts (MW) of energy, which constituted an investment of US$160 million.   Enrique Crespo, CEO of CMI Capital, stated that "through 10 generation plants distributed throughout the country, Bósforo will place power generation and distribution points closer to consumers, thus supporting the stability and reliability of the national electricity system, confirming CMI's long-term commitment to the development of El Salvador.”   The project had already two completed phases, the first consists of three plants located in La Union, Pasaquina and El Carmen. From 20 to 25 October 2019, the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI by its initials in Dutch) is organizing an European market orientation mission for companies who produce and export fresh fruit and vegetables and participate in the "Connecting Central America" initiative.   The Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (known in Spanish as PROESA) participates as an implementing member of the project.   This initiative, financed by the European Union (EU) and the Netherlands, seeks to reinforce the competitiveness of Central American small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and promote their exports to the European market, taking advantage of the Association Agreement between Central America and the EU, to contribute to the sustainable economic development of the Central American region. “Organization of fairs and assembly of stands” is the name of the training that was conferred this week, by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (known in Spanish as PROESA), under the “Strengthening my company” qualification organized by the Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE in Spanish).   The objective of the tuition was to provide tools to micro entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs about partaking in local fairs and the proper way to set up a stand for these events. The president of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (known in Spanish as PROESA), Salvador Gómez Góchez, contributed in the French Investment and Trade Forum in Central America, organized by the French Embassy.   During the activity, he presented the different business opportunities that El Salvador holds to French investors and visitors of the rest of the world.
