The services sector has an important contribution in the Salvadoran economy: it represents more than 77.6% of GDP. The main sectors with export potential are software and mobile apps development, creative industries, and medical tourism.

The exported amount for 2020 was US$ 2.1 billion, making up 34% of total exports. Services exports between January to September 2021 were $2.3 billion.
