He was born in Atiquizaya, Ahuachapán, El Salvador. In the 80s he was forced to immigrate to the United States due to the armed conflict in El Salvador and on his arrival to the north American country, he worked in several positions at public and private institutions and companies.

Quickly and already established in Los Angeles, CA, he became General Director of the Salvadoran World Organization, entity that provided advice to Salvadoran businessmen and merchants, initiating its work alongside other Salvadorans, becoming that way the first President of the International Society for the Improvement of Atiquizaya, (for its initials in Spanish SIMA).

He also served as Public Relations Director of the Association of Salvadorans in Los Angeles, association that still provides legal advice and support to Salvadoran immigrants in the United States.

He was founder of the Salvaroran American National Association, SANA serving as its Director for ten years; working proactively with Salvadoran communities based in the U.S. to promote El Salvador's identity and culture.

His main legacy is to have founded and created "The Salvadoran – American Day" in the United States and that is why he is recognized since 1999. This celebration takes place every 6th August since year 2000 in Los Angeles, day in which the patron saint of our country (The Savior of the World) is also commemorated. In 2001 it began to be held in California County and in 2002 in the State of California when the Congress approved the initiative presented; however, it was until July 2006 that the Democratic Congressman Hilda Solís, native from Nicaragua, submitted the motion to the U.S. chamber of representatives of Congress whom unanimously issued the resolution HR-721, which declares August 6th "The Salvadoran – American Day", as "a recognition to their hard work and for the dedication and contribution to the stability and welfare of the US". Thanks to this significant achievement obtained by Salvador, after many efforts, diplomatic, political, community and religious; the Republic of El Salvador is the only country in the world that has designed a special day for its migrant community in the United States, celebration that take place in different cities of the United States, such as Los Angeles, Washington D.C., San Francisco, New York, Boston, among others.

Always in the United States, he also served as CEO of the company America United Productions, producer of the EXPO EL SALVADOR FAIR, event that helped to promote Salvadoran products and services in the U.S. market.

Back in El Salvador, from 2011 to 2014, he was designated as Departmental Political Governor of Ahuachapán and as governor he became involved with the challenges of all municipalities throughout the Department of Ahuachapán in matters such as infrastructure, productivity, employment, security and others; bringing solutions such as agricultural packages, productive credits, fruit and vegetable projects, improvement of educational infrastructure and similar programs for the benefit of the residents of that department.

In his career, from 2015 he also served as part of the Investment Direction at the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador, PROESA; position from which he worked on attracting Foreign Direct Investment to El Salvador, mainly re-establishing the channels of communication and rapprochement with Salvadorans living abroad, interested in investing or doing business in their home country.

For his career and committed community work for Salvadorans within and outside our borders, Salvador Gómez Góchez has received various recognitions as the follows:

Throughout his life, he stands out for his ability to create rapprochement with Salvadoran communities within and outside our borders; as well as to create cooperative connections with institutions and agencies involved in resolving the needs of co-nationals. He has an academic background in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas, UCA; he speaks fluent English and knows very well the idiosyncrasies of Salvadorans abroad for having lived 30 years outside the national territory.

From the appointment of Salvador Antonio Gómez Góchez as president of PROESA by the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele; his experience, proactivity, patriotism, organizational capacity and his commitment to communities are aimed to promote El Salvador and attract investments from co-nationals and foreigners, regaining the confidence of both; as well as promoting the Salvadoran exportable offer in the region and looking for new markets abroad; seeking the generation of more and better jobs for Salvadorans.
